SAFETY & QUALITY ASSURANCE

CanaRx Services Inc. is acutely aware of the concerns being raised by various organizations about the safety of the Canadian Drug Distribution System. In a 2004 meeting between Diane Gorman, the Assistant Deputy Minister of Health Canada and Mark B. McClellan, the Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Ms. Gorman stated that “Canada’s safety record is second to none internationally” and that “Canada’s health care system is a defining characteristic of who we are as a nation”

In keeping with these nationally recognized standards, CanaRx consistently strives to maintain the highest degree of safety throughout its operations.

  • All patients are required to visit their U.S. based Primary Care Physician at least once a year for a complete physical and reassessment of all medication therapy.
  • The CanaRx formulary is restricted to refill maintenance medications. CanaRx will not allow the fulfillment of new or first-time prescriptions; prescriptions that the patient has not previously filled through his/her local pharmacy. Participants must have been taking the medication being ordered for a minimum of (30) thirty-days. This ensures that all prescriptions dispensed by CanaRx affiliated pharmacies are for maintenance medications only.
  • A complete medical file assessment is conducted; including a U.S. based Drug Utilization Review (DUR) – First DataBank of California.
  • The CanaRx Pharmacy Network includes accredited Canadian pharmacies and State inspected International pharmacies. Pharmacies are under the jurisdiction of a provincial or territorial College of Pharmacists or similar governing body and are required to adhere to strict standards of practice. More information can be obtained by visiting the web sites of the applicable College of Pharmacy.
  • All medications dispensed through the CanaRx network of pharmacies is supplied through closely monitored government regulated distribution systems of the countries of origin, typically involving only a manufacturer, a wholesaler and a Pharmacy.
  • Medication orders are shipped individually, direct from the Pharmacy, in compliance with confidentiality regulations. 98% of these medications are shipped by the Pharmacies directly to the Patients in original, sealed manufacturer’s containers. This direct distribution system ensures the highest drug pedigree and quality in North American today.
  • Prescription medications purchased may vary in shape or color or come in a different container than what you are familiar with, but for all intents and purposes they are identical. Patient education leaflets are included with each order.
  • All medications are shipped by the Pharmacy implementing their postal system that links directly to the U.S. Priority One Mail Service once across the border to the Patient.
