SECRETARY OF STATE MATT BROWN
UNVEILS SAFE, AFFORDABLE PRESCRIPTION DRUG OPTION
FOR RHODE ISLANDERS
Brown introduces RIMEDS,
a new program that will offer safe, imported prescription drugs at savings
of 35% to 60% with a dedicated toll-free number and website for Rhode
Islanders.
Secretary of State Matt Brown introduced RIMEDS,
a new option for Rhode Islanders to access safe and affordable prescription
drugs during a press conference at the Pilgrim Senior Center. Brown was joined
by local senior citizens, including members of the Gray Panthers, who are tired
of struggling to keep up with the high costs of prescription drugs.
Rhode Islanders will have access to lower-priced prescription drugs through a
network of 60 inspected and approved international pharmacies at a 35% - 60%
savings. Consumers in Rhode Island can compare prices and start the enrollment
process.
“Thousands of people across Rhode Island are struggling to afford prescription
drugs and we need to provide them with the same opportunities other Americans
have to buy safe drugs at lower costs. There is no reason Rhode Islanders should
be left behind,” Brown said. “With the help of CanaRx,
RIMEDS
is a new option for every Rhode Islander to purchase safe, affordable
prescription drugs.”
Over the coming weeks, Secretary Brown will visit senior centers across the
state to show seniors how they can save money using
RIMEDS
to buy prescriptions.
